Hey fellow axe grinders I’m proud to tell you i did something today that makes me proud: I donated blood for the first time.
I've been procrastinating for about ten years now, never getting my sorry ass into gear to go give the gift of life, which essentially took eight minutes.
The sad irony is that several very dear family members have Thalasemia Minor, an iron deficiency prevalent in Mediterranean blood. Those with Thalassemia Minor are prone to be Anaemic. People with Thalassemia Major typically don't live to see the age of twenty.
So enough about me - I just set up a new group "guitarists who give blood" - please go give blood and join the group and tell others about it.
A typical blood giving session saves four lives. Get off your butts or stop practicing your scales for about an hour and get to the nearest red-cross chapter and why don't you bring your acoustic and play a couple of tunes for the volunteers.
Guitarbites is not just about guitar, gear, and gigs but also giving back to the community. If you've done something noble with your guitar lately, why don't you let us know?
Later, Grasshopper
