The ever-escalating battle-of-the-band-game competition that has recently been joined by Wii Music sees Activision and Red Octane emerging from their bunker hand in hand with peripheral maker, Logitech.

Yup, the manufacturer of game add-ons is to make new instruments that will be compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour available later this very year. Exactly what these instruments are going to be above and beyond what is already planned is stated. But you can be pretty sure they won't look like anything made by Gibson.

No prices as yet. We will report even before Electronic Arts and MTV have a chance to announce that they too have new peripherals.
